The 6019 is the mechanical entry-level model of a product line that boasts the most in-demand features. It is a solid choice for quilters needing reliable performance and quilt-friendly features who are not looking to move to a digital machine yet.

Although this is a lower-end model, the 6019 QC was clearly built for performance and functionality. Both the design and features are well suited for the demands of machine quilting.

The 6019QC is ergonomically designed, which is a huge benefit for larger projects. Its work table slopes downward making it easier and more comfortable to reach. Likewise, the front panel display is set at an angle conducive to comfortable viewing and access.

A particularly beneficial feature of this Janome machine is the Superior Feed System. This system is also found on the high-end 10000 model, so its inclusion in the 1690QC is a convenient surprise for quilters. The SFS consists of a 7-point feed dog mechanism that allows stitching to begin right at the fabric edge. It makes it unnecessary to hold the starting thread or use scrap fabric to begin sewing. It also provides consistently even stitching.

While specialty accessories must often be purchased separately, the 6019 QC is equipped with a fairly inclusive Quilting Kit.

This machine uses sliding selectors rather than a digital mechanism control stitch length and width. This feature makes switching between stitches fairly convenient, although stitch control is more precise with via a digital mechanism.
