First Stitches Class Policies
- Seats fill fast, so register for classes early. Payment is required at the time of registration. Pay online or call Cañon City at 719-285-8088 OR Pueblo at 719-225-8142 to pay with a credit card.
- Classes must be paid in full at the time of registration.
- Purchase of class supplies - We offer a 15% discount on all fabric, notions, patterns and books. This discount cannot be combined with other discounts or offers and is only good the day you register for the class AND the day of the class.
- Individual teachers will set their minimum number of students needed for the class to be held.
- Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to set up, and be prepared to start immediately at the scheduled time. All classes start at the scheduled time and begin finishing up ten minutes prior to the scheduled end to class.
- Class Cancellation -
We consider your enrollment to be a commitment by you to take the class. We, in turn, make a commitment to the instructor of the class. Therefore, no cancellations are allowed on classes. Thank you for not asking us to make exceptions.
In the event a class is cancelled due to lack of participants or inclement weather, we will refund your registration fee in the form of a store gift card or apply it to another class. Classes with insufficient enrollment will be cancelled. - Your sewing machine or serger, must be in excellent working condition before you arrive at class. We service most brands of sewing machines and sergers, so if you are experiencing problems with your machine, please come see us prior to the start of the class.
- Copyright Laws - We do not allow the sharing or copying, of books, patterns, print offs, or handouts. This is a violation of the United States copyright laws.
- Class supply lists will be available at registration.
- In consideration of others taking the class, and for safety concerns, please leave your children at home.
- Cell phones must be placed on vibrate or turned off during class.
- Minimum age for participation in classes is 18 years of age, unless prior arrangements have been made. Kid's Camp ages are 8-13.
Parental or guardian waivers will be required for anyone under the age of 18 participating in the classes.
Special Event & Guest Educator Classes Cancellation Policy
WINTER WEATHER POLICY - Colorado's weather can be tricky. We want everyone to be safe, so we reserve the right to cancel a class should we deem it too dangerous to be out and about. Please CALL before you head out for a class when weather is threatening. We will do our best to give class members a call, should First Stitches, or the teacher, feel it's best to cancel. But a phone call to the store is easier than showing up with sewing machine in hand, on a cold snowy evening, only to find a note on the door.
Special Event & Guest Educator Classes Cancellation Policy
- Due to the fact that we have to make commitments to the Educator and provide supplies, food and sometimes machines, there can be no refunds or credits for cancellations. Please be committed to attending the event or class when you sign up. Please do not put us in the uncomfortable position of explaining why we simply cannot return or refund your event / class commitment.

Store Discount Policy for Guilds & Groups
Guilds and Groups, who have been registered with First Stitches, will receive a 10% discount on their purchases. On the same days as Guild meetings, Guild Members will receive 15% for that day only.
To register your Guild or Group, please call the store for specifications. Guild and Group Members must be registered with First Stitches in order to be eligible for the discounts.
